The Challenge

The Department of Defense Casualty, Mortuary Affairs and Funeral Honors Program wanted the military community to fully understanding the significance of the Gold Star lapel pin. They also needed to warn military families about the illegal sale of these pins.

The Process

The Bowen Group worked closely with the Casualty program manager to identify key learning objectives. Through the visioning and discovery process, the team helped define the need as being more broad, encompassing overall recognition of military service for families.

The Outcome

The Bowen Group created a short, impactful video focused on military service recognition, as well as a supplemental document explaining the history of various forms of military service recognition in more detail.
