The Outcome

Developed a critical, state-of-the-art life-coaching platform and provided stigma-free behavioral services to nearly 4,000 Marines and sailors — receiving a 96.3% satisfaction rating from users!

The Bowen Group created, launched, operated and marketed a stigma-free non-medical coaching program for Marines and sailors in need of behavioral health services. The leadership of the U.S. Navy’s health division sought to use life coaching as a less stigmatizing, preclinical practice to address life stresses created by deployments. Team Bowen customized a state-of-the-art call center equipped with telephonic, email, instant message, text and video capabilities for delivering coaching services. These options met end users where they were and worked within their schedule. Flexible distance coaching maintained complete confidentiality and eliminated the need for Marines and sailors to notify their chain of command that they were seeking behavioral health services, thus removing much of the associated stigma.

MarineAdvisor’s proven data-driven approach and intervention allowed intensive focus on issues and challenges facing Marines and sailors. Licensed clinical professionals, highly trained in Marine Corps culture and as life coaches, provided coaching to assist with achieving a healthy work/life balance, financial management, career transition, wellness, personal relationships, life stressors and more. This unique, successful service delivery method resulted in a 96.3 percent satisfaction rate among users, an impressive 3,964 sessions provided and award-winning communication services.
